Public Works is the heartbeat of any city, developing and maintaining buildings, roads, water systems, solid waste handling and administration. The people working in public works are solving some of the toughest problems by our communities, our country and our world.

There would be no community without the quality of life public works provides. There would be no community to police and protect, no public to lead or represent. Public works allows the world as we know it to be. The City of Deer Park's Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the water treatment plant, the sewer treatment plant, all utility lines within the city, trash collection, traffic signals & signs, electrical and HVAC work to all city facilities, street maintenance, drainage maintenance, mowing of ditch right-of-ways, mowing of some street right-of-ways, fleet maintenance, animal control, building permitting and inspections as well as the engineering division.
