Explore Deer Park
NOW is a great time to visit Deer Park!
If you're looking for a destination that gives you convenient access to Houston, Galveston and a whole region of history, outdoor activities and fun, come to Deer Park! Throughout the year, we offer family-friendly events, chances to learn about Texas history and lots of fun!
There's truly something for everyone in our city - from the Battleground Golf Course to a range of dining and shopping venues, you'll be surprised to find many amenities and activities right here in Deer Park! Take our history for example - not only are we lucky enough to be just a few miles away from the San Jacinto Monument and the Battleship TEXAS, but we have plenty of our own history to share as well! We're home to Patrick's Cabin, the site where the initial treaty papers were drafted following the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836, securing Texas' independence from Mexico. For that reason, we proudly hold the distinction of being the "Birthplace of Texas."
But, just because we love our history doesn't mean we live in the past! All year long, we host community events like "Dive-In" movies at the Dow Park Pool, free open-air concerts and holiday events that are perfect for families! We're also home to the Battleground Golf Course, an 18-hole, 72-par facility that's also great for special gatherings.
Deer Park is also home to the Art Park Players, one of the last dinner theater groups in the state! With four full-scale productions a year, there's always a chance to come for a production and explore for the rest of the weekend!
We also have dining options for any budget or need - whether you're in the mood for Mediterranean or just a quick burger, we have lots of local restaurants that you won't find anywhere else, as well as the major chains you know and love!
If you're coming to town for the weekend or for a longer stay, check this Web site for updates and don't forget to ask any of our hotels about our STAYDP discount rates!
